In February of 2008, I made my first purchase of six female alpacas to start my herd. Then in March, I purchased two more. That’s when the addiction began. By the end of 2008 I had made several more purchases which brought my total to around fifteen.

In the spring of 2009, I realized it was to late to turn back. I decided it was time to make a change in my lifestyle. It was time to give up living on the water and put my passion for off shore fishing on hold so that I could move inland to a farm and bring my animals home.  Even though we were in a recession, I decided to sell the boat, and all the real estate so that I could start looking for that perfect piece of land to build my farm.

By the end of 2009, my herd had grown to about 15 alpacas with the purchase of several more foundation females, some Junior Herdsires and lets not forget the new babies that had been born on the farm.
